2 Shots of Merecedes Benz Fashion Week!

Mercedes Benz fashion week and its designers are dominating our fashion world everyday with their innovative styles, shows and functions. So we are going to celebrate bazzarly voguers by taking double shots! No not the drinks people, but double the news. Yes two hot and current stories. We’ll start with a Back stage beauty trend! Braids ladies and fab gents have been the inspiration of designers and the trend is sweeping the runway showrooms of mbfw. Designers such as Nicholas K , and Lela Rose have infused braids on the models who grace their runways, no matter how they make the braid, soft fishtail like or rebelliously messy it will look fabulous and chic. Here’s something that TRESemme Stylist Team did that I have never seen on any runway. Small braids… in the front of the hair. Amazing. Try it ladies.  The next story would be of the mbfw designers rallying for japan relief. Labels like Ralph Lauren, Christian Cotta, Vera Wang and Calvin Klein are being the creative hero’s that they are, this time for a great cause. On April 28 the designer held a online auction to help fund the relief of Japan. It was called ‘’ Fashion and Friends for Japan’’ which shopping packages and exclusive fashion opportunities from the worlds greatest designers. What a celebration of fashion news this was huh?

Wait... Is That Kate's Wedding Dress?

A couple blogs ago we talked about Kate Middleton’s dazzling wardrobe and how you can dress like the new duchess, not the dress is being replicated and sold to the public! However, making that wonderful dress is not the easiest task to create, but Raul Echeverria and his team at Alterations Boutique in Marylebone, London. Kate’s dress was designed by the late Alexander McQueen new team leader, Sarah Burton. The McQueen dress was made from the finest ivory satin and lace that was made with handcrafted flowers for that McQueenish spin. To prep for this replica Echeverria had to buy 33ft of lining, ten meters of Tulle for the veil, ten meters of netting 15 meters of satin and four meters of lace. This was not a cheap shopping trip; the total added up to $1,700. Since they did this amazing work in 5 hours they had no choice but to buy lace accented with flowers already. The dress is being replicated all over! But they must have permission from the house of house of Alexander McQueen to copy such a historic piece. Although the dress isn’t as over the top as Princess Diana’s, (beautiful fairytale themed gown designed by Elizabeth Emanuel with huge puff sleeves and a 25 ft. train.)  it is indeed a magnificent gown that is making major headlining news and trends!

All Hail McQueen!

Yess! Rejoice Bazzarly Voguers, we finally have Alexander McQueen news! For those who have been living under a rock since the 90’s, Lee Alexander McQueen was a extraordinary world well known fashion designer. His sudden death by his own hand in 2010 did not change the uniquely ‘’Dark imagination’’ he possessed in his clothing, especially at not his celebratory opening of his metropolitan museum of art. Sarah Burton, leader of the Alexander McQueen team did exceptionally divine on the royal wedding dress and also on his exhibition ‘’Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’’. With the help of florist Raul Avila, who lined the stairway of the extravaganza with heather and also beautifully decorated the Temple of Dendur with Topiary birds and boxwood hedges, hosts of the opening Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Actress Salma Hayek and her husband Francois-Henri Pinault, who happens to be the owner the McQueen brand Oww! Stella McCartney was also in attendance, and curator of the event, Andrew Bolton. They showed the artist’s love for the dark side of the Romantic Movement in a way that was personal and visually exquisite. The music that flowed through the event was of the threatening genre, the classical selection of Mozart Adagio. His influential creativity was from the era of Prim Victoriana, which showed in the clothes on display. Stella McCartney said at the event that ‘’ Lee would be so proud, and I bet he is looking down.’’ The fashion genius has had brilliant inspirations after another such as Jack the Ripper (One of my all time favorite crime cases) in his 1992 graduation show from Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. And also the Highland Raping for his 1995 collection. It consisted of torn dresses and naked bodies with a wooden backdrop that was viciously smashed in. Along with the many Alexander McQueen runway shows that played, the centerpiece in the museum had shelves and cabinets of alluring and ‘’wild’’ accessories. This is a good way to show the world of the late designer’s work, in all its dark and decay looking glory.

Bon Voyage Fall 2011 Fashion Week!

As we say Farwell to the fall 2011 Season collections at Mercedes Benz fashion week, let us first look at the fond memories of the stunning shows. My favorites have to be L.A.M.B by Gwen Stefani, Betsey Johnson, and Monique Lhuillier. I loved the way the designers used the lights and sound to create the illusion of the runway they envisioned. I love the hair and make-up on the models, the choice of models, and lastly the creativity of the pieces. They were unlike anything I have ever witnessed.  “This was an outstanding season,” Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG Fashion Worldwide, Peter Levy States in the article. The 85 show season was said to have ended with the wonderful Gwen Stefani. It comprised of 16 new designers that got to show their pieces.  The finale day was partnered with a fabulous perk.  The pre-launch of Fashion World Live, which is a fun and exciting platform for fashion cravers like you and I to integrate fashion labels within the social media online.Beautiful season indeed Bazzarly Voguers,  I know what I'll be using for inspiration!

Fashion's Horrible Appearance at Oscarzilla! Ahhhhhh!

There's nothing more amazing than the Oscars people, yes the star studded celebrity list, the long and boring Oscar handouts that most people like you and me go to sleep through at home, the disappointing faces of those who do not win and must I not forget Gwyneth Paltrow TRYING to sing. but the best part has to be the red carpet appearanaces before the boring show. Yes this part of the Oscar's is the most halarious and critically important part of the whole show. So shame on the celebrity stylist's for dressing the following people this way. lets go down the list shall we. So we have the beautiful Nicole Kidman in a not so beautiful gown made by Christian Dior. The gown looks like it was once a bead-dazzled to death table cloth. Horrible. Cate Blanchett wore a sheer pink Givenchy dress that is too stiff looking for her little frame. Gwyneth Paltrow, whose rechid singing triumphs over her heinous Calvin Klein gown. The gown makes the movie star look strange and from outer space. Scarlett Johannson's gown made by Dolce & Gabbana gown is has three concepts that just do not fit right together, purple, see trough and just a mess. Bazzarly Vogue news voted on the worse of the worse at the Oscars and the winner is... Cross your fingers Hopeful's... Sorry Nicole, It has to be Virginia Madsen in Romona Kevenza. This has got the be the worse moment in Oscar History right here! the dress looks like her inspiration was the movie black swan, but she could not decide wheter to go for a white or black swan look, so she went for both. Accessories all horrible. Im wondering if she dressed herself for this event. Honte Sur Vous! Posh Want to be celebriteis that we all look up too. you guys were better off wearing the red carpet that you strutted on!

CHANEL's ''Haute Couture'' Term Graces Its Spring-Summer 2011 Runway Show

Ok divas and divos, before we get to the juicy details of this lavishing event that took place on January 25, 2011 at the Pavillon Cambon Capucines in Paris…you know, the insane celebrity list, ravishing Chanel looks and a review on the show from designer Karl Lagerfeld from Chanel.com, lets wrap our fashion-crazed minds around this ‘’Haute Couture’’  term. Any suggestions on what it exactly is?  Oh never mind keep your red MAC covered lips shut because Bazzarly VOGUE News is going to tell all! According to an article from Chanel news the French adore ‘’Haute Couture’’. The term was actually made an Englishman named Charles Worth around Napoleon III era. Oh La La! Fashionistas such as Callot, Patou, Lanvin and of course Coco Chanel took over the ‘’Haute Couture’’ title after Worth and it remains elegant and magnificent to this day. Alright dolls, no need to get your silk Chanel undies in a bunch here’s the inside dish on everything ‘’Haute Couture’’ Celebrities such as Kirsten Dunst, Janelle Monae, Vanessa Paradis and Pedro Almodovar all sat in the front row with that classic runway star struck gaze you may have seen. (Alexander McQueen’s runway gazes are my all-time favorites) if you click here you will be located to the video of the extraordinarily grand show. Three words…to die for! Designer Karl Lagerfeld’s inspiration for the show was Marie Laurencin who rocked the ‘’Haute Couture’’ looks in his favorite years of 1908 and the 1930s.Kirsten dunst stated ‘’ the music made me a little emotional. It was beautifully done.’’ Pedro Almodovar stated ‘’ I was shocked. Karl is not only a genius, he is so peculiar. This kind of mixture he makes of lightness and the spectacular is very difficult. It is almost impossible to be more subtle and at the same time so spectacular. I am very moved by the show.’’ I don’t know about you guys but I reading about these alluring runway shows make me wish I was there. Congrads Chanel!
